How can I enter a Concert Katie contest?
You can look on the right side bar to view all the current giveaways. Or you can click the "Giveaway" guitar which will link you to anything that has been tagged "giveaway" past and present. Then all you need to do is the "mandatory" entry action. If you'd like additional entries, you can do any of the optional entries that you would like.
I live outside the USA can I enter?
Anyone outside the USA can enter unless it is noted in the contest rules that there are restrictions.
Are there age requirements for entering a contest?
If you are under 13, please get your parents permission as you will need to send us your home address in the event that you win a prize. Any other age requirements will be listed if that particular contest has one.
How will I know I won?
Contests using Rafflecopter will "announce" the winner in the post once it is chosen. You will also be contacted by me via email. (blog@concertkatie.com) I try to email within 12 hours of the contest ending, but sometimes I get busy and forget.
How long do I have to respond to the winning email?
You have 48 hours from the time I sent the email, not the end of the contest, to reply to an email stating that you won. Generally I will need your mailing address as a response (incase I forget to ask for it - which I sometimes do!)
When can I expect my prize?
Please wait 3-4 weeks for your prize to arrive before contacting me. Some items are mailed out directly by myself and other prizes are fulfilled by the sponsor. Often times sponsors are running multiple contests at once across many blogs so there can be a delay. I do my best to try and get prizes out in a timely manner, but sometimes I need some extra time to get to the post office as well.
What happens if 3-4 weeks have passed and nothing has arrived?
Contact me (blog@concertkatie.com) and I will look into things. I have no control over whether or not the sponsors will mail prizes, but I will do my best to track down my contact and find out what the hold up might be.
When do contests end?
Contests that I run myself end at 11:59PM est on the date provided. Contests through Rafflecopter end at 12:01am EST on the date provided. This information will be noted in each contest post.
Is there a limit on how many prizes I can win?
No. Certain sponsors may have limits as to how many prizes you can win from their company in a certain time period and when they let me know these limitations I will post it in the contest.
Can I enter more than once?
Yes and No. If you mean have more than 1 entry in the contest - yes. We often have multiple ways to gain entry into the contest. If you mean entering using an alias or alternate email addresses then no. Contests should be entered by each person using only 1 email address. Anyone suspected of using multiple accounts may be banned from any future contests.
How do you know if we are following you on Twitter or Facebook?
I know all. :) I get noticiations of new twitter followers and can see who is following me on Facebook at any time. If an entry comes up as a winner and it says they are following me - I double check to make sure that they are before announcing them as the winner. If I can not verify this, I will move on to another winner so make sure you are really following! Once you follow me once then you'll always be able to get that addtional entry.
Does your banner have to be on our main page to count as an entry?
No. If you have a "favorite blogs" or similar page, that is fine. As long as you include the link and I can verify that the button is there, you'll be fine :)
Do I have to verify my email to be on your mailing list?
Yes. Feedburner will ask you to verify your email when you first sign up. Then you'll receive an email update with blog psts daily (provided I posted on the blog that day) You can unsubscribe at any time - but you will be losing 3 entries if you do!
You and another blog are both running a contest for a product I want - but it says I can only win once. Should I Still enter?
Sure! That will double your chances. But in the event you win from both blogs, please let one of us know that you already won the item somewhere else so that yo won't violate the sponsors rules and that an alternate winner can be chosen.
How do you pick a winner?
On contests run myself (not through Rafflecopter) I use random.org. Each comment is given a number and I put in the range of numbers. The number that random.org chooses is the winner, pending verification. Rafflecopter has its own way of choosing a winner from all entries - but I believe it is similar to the random number generator. Those winners have to be verified first as well.
Do you ever do giveaways just through twitter or facebook?
From time to time I have been known to do "first person to reply" and similar contests through twitter and facebook only. Sometimes I announce they'll happen on the blog other times it is spur of the moment - so this would be another great readon to make sure that you are following me!
